COVID-19: New Measures in Place for Deliveries

  • Modified in-home deliveries have resumed.
  • Our delivery team will be wearing personal protective equipment (masks and gloves)
  • The room must be ready to place new furniture. The room must be cleared of all items so we can place the merchandise without any obstructions. The delivery team is not permitted to remove any existing furniture from the designated space.
  • The items will be placed in the customer's room of choice and will be unwrapped.
  • Clients and/or designers must not be present in the room while the delivery team places the merchandise.
  • Before your items are delivered, please ensure that all entrances( doors, stairwells, elevators, etc.) allow your items to pass through.
  • Our delivery team can in no way modify or alter doors, guardrails, moldings, light fixtures or any other object preventing the items from passing through.
  • In the event that a client is not present to receive the delivery as organized or that there are other problems arising due to obstructions on the part of the client, then all added delivery fees will be automatically charged to the client’s credit card of which number will be on file in order to process the additional fees.
  • There will be no returns and exchanges during this time, until further notice.
  • There are added delivery fees to any item delivered to a condo, as there are stricter guide lines and longer wait times.

General information

  • Lead Times:
    • Online purchases:
      • Many items are in stock and available for delivery within 7 business days from the date of purchase unless noted.
      • An option for in store pickup is available at time of checkout.
    • In store purchases:
      • Estimated delivery dates for special orders will be provided at the time of purchase based on the manufacturer’s guidelines
        • Since these guidelines are only estimates they are subject to change without notice.
        • Design Louis George Inc.  is not responsible for manufacturer’s delays.
        • Once the item is received by Design Louis George Inc. it must be paid for in full and delivered and /or installed within 10 business days.
      • All in store purchases must be paid for in full at the time of purchase.
        • Delivery and/or installation must occur within 10 business days of purchase.
      • Customers will be charged a 2% per month warehousing fee on the total value (excluding taxes and shipping) of all items held past the 10 business day delivery requirement.
  • Design Louis George Inc. has a designated delivery zone made up of the Island of Montreal and some of its surrounding areas. Please contact customer service for specific details of these areas.
  • Canadian customers are responsible for all the applicable sales taxes of their respective province.
  • International customers are responsible for all duties and taxes imposed by local governments as well as the brokerage fees incurred to clear the goods through customs
    • We are required by law to disclose the following with respect to the shipment:
      • Detailed description of the item(s)
      • The full value
      • The country of origin

Home delivery fees for Furniture, Lighting, Large  Accessories and Mirrors

  • Delivery fees are subject to sales tax.
  • Home delivery fees are determined based on the area.
  • Delivery fees will be determined during the order process.
  • All deliveries to condominiums have an additional flat fee of $75.
  • We offer a white-glove service which includes assembly and installation.
  • Delivery fees are non-refundable.

Delivery of Furniture, Lighting, Large accessories and Mirrors:

  • We will contact you to co-ordinate a mutually agreed upon delivery time.
    • If no one is present to receive the delivery at the agreed time additional charges will apply.
    • We reserve the right to cancel or delay deliveries due to hazardous weather conditions.
  • It is the customer’s responsibility to take proper measurements to ensure that all item(s) clear entranceways, hallways, stairways and the like with a clear passageway and full manoeuvrability to its final placement
    • Design Louis George Inc assumes no responsibility for additional costs incurred by the delivery team.  These costs are the customer’s responsibility and must be paid for in full upon delivery.   These charges include but are not limited to:
      • Removal of doors
      • Dismantling and/or moving any obstructions
      • Deliveries above the 2nd floor with no elevator access
  • Should the item(s) be deemed undeliverable by our team please refer to our return policy on your item(s) purchased.
  • Our delivery team is not permitted to perform any of the following:
    • Move existing furniture, electronics or other household belongings
    • Mount any lamps, mirrors or hang pictures  on walls
    • Make any electrical connections outside of inserting a plug into a wall outlet
    • Install chandeliers
  • At delivery it is the customer’s responsibility to inspect the item(s) for any damages or manufacturer’s defects.
    • Any claim on merchandise not sold as final sale must be immediately reported to Design Louis George Inc. and documented at the time of delivery.
    • The customer’s signature without a claim notification will constitute acceptance of the delivered item(s) free and clear of any damages or defects
    • Once the merchandise has been accepted, the handling of any non-disclosed claims after delivery will be at the discretion of Design Louis George Inc.

Shipment of Bed linens, Bath, Table linens, Table top accessories and Throws:

  • In-store purchases:
    • Free delivery within the defined Design Louis George Inc. delivery zone on orders greater than $275 (excluding sales taxes).
    • Delivery outside the defined Design Louis George Inc. delivery zone will be handled by courier.
      • Once calculated these charges must be paid in full by the customer prior to delivery.
  • Online purchases:
    • All packages are sent via Canada Post
      • Within Canada:
        • Free shipping on orders greater than  $275 (excluding sales taxes)
          • Charges for orders not qualifying for free shipping will be added to the invoice total at checkout.
          • These charges are subject to sales tax and calculated based on the package dimension, weight and shipping address.
      • Outside Canada:
        • Shipping charges will be calculated and added to the invoice total at checkout.
          • These charges are based on the package dimension, weight and shipping address.
          • Any additional duties and taxes imposed by local governments are payable by the customer to the third party upon receipt of the merchandise.
      • You will be notified once the order has been shipped and a Canada Post tracking number will be provided at that time via email.
